How Drawdown Pads Work:
The drawdown pad gives artists a detailed look at the three stages of the pigment process.

1. The Masstone: This is what the pigment looks like in the bottle. Usually much darker and more opaque.
2. The Midtone: This is the healed result, usually visible directly above the black pad bar.
3. The Basetone: This is the color temperature. Cool, warm? You’ll easily see how it looks here, plus the harder-to-see base tones that make up the foundation of a pigment.
